Bedarra Island is home to one of the worlds most exclusive island resorts. It lies of the north Queensland coastline in the Family Group of Islands and is also known as Richards Island. Access to the Bedarra Island is by launch transfer from nearby Dunk Island which has both ferry services from Mission Beach on the mainland and air services from Cairns, further to the north. Cairns also has an international airport for international guests coming to stay at Bedarra Island. This resort is about privacy, seclusion, great food and wine and a destination where the rich and famous can holiday without worrying about the intrusion of the real world on their holiday time. It is also a fantastic honeymoon destination for those who want to do some thing truly memorable for that special time as their married life begins.
There are three main types of accommodation on Bedarra Island. Along the beachfront are a row of self contained units set among the trees on the hillside overlooking the beach. These are known as the Hillside Villas and each is private from the next. They come in two layouts, known as the two story villas and the split level villas. Further away from the resort and set on the hillside overlooking the ocean are the Pavillions. These have absolutely fantastic views over the ocean and are totally private. Each has its own plunge pool and that beautiful indoor/outdoor feel about them. The Point Suites boast open plan tropical living large decks and fantastic views.
The food and entertainment areas of the resort are also very special. The restaurant overlooks the pool and the beach. Your tariff includes all food and there is an open bar that is also included. A la carte meals are served for all meals and the reputation is that the food and service at Bedarra Island is simply the best. The bar is stocked with some of the best wines and spirits you can imagine, and you are free to help yourself at any time of the day or night.
